August 2018

August 2018 was an extremely exciting month for all involved at Gisburne Park Estate as it saw us hold our first ever weddings at the Estate, and what incredible weddings they were!

Both weddings had decided upon a clear span marquee from Elite Marquees, with clear panels to 2 sides which overlooked our breath-taking cliff. Catering was provided by With a Twist, who wowed guests with their delicious menus and efficient service. Drinks were provided by us, along with our 4m round wooden bar which created a very social centrepiece to the marquee.

The sun made an appearance on both days just as guests arrived at the parking barn, greeted by our golf buggy drivers and Jager Bombs, they certainly got a feel of what to expect for the rest of the day. Guests really do love the golf buggy experience down to the wedding venue, it gives them time to relax and take in the surroundings without having to worry about which turning to take. After arriving in style at the marquee, guests enjoyed drink receptions held outside, meaning they were able to explore everything the Estate has to offer, whether it was exploring the River Ribble or relaxing by the firepits and straw-bales.

After the formalities of the wedding breakfast and speeches came the party, and our couples knew just how to throw a good party! With pizza ovens, bands, DJ’s and fireworks to name but a few guests partied well into the night. As the sun began to set and darkness descended our wedding venue was a wash with festoon lighting across the marquee field and the cliffs, bridges and Bridal Cottage were lit up with white spotlights, almost creating a different venue to the one they experienced during the day.

We are very lucky here at Gisburne Park Estate to be able to offer guest accommodation at Ribblesdale Park, meaning guests didn’t have far to go for a comfortable night’s sleep. All boasting private hot tubs, your guests can treat themselves too!

My favourite part of these weddings was spending a week with the bride and groom. For me this was such an honour as we made so many memories and experienced a real range of emotions from the excitement of arriving on Monday, the nerves on the morning of the big day to sharing memories of the big day over coffee the morning after.

We have been lucky enough to work with some truly amazing suppliers during our first year of business, some of whom you will be able to meet at our Open Weekend on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd September.
